Coalition Commends Bipartisan Congressional Letter to NIH Leadership on Recruitment of Children into All of Us Program

Washington (June 13, 2024) – The Coalition for Pediatric Medical Research applauded a bipartisan Congressional letter to National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director Dr. Monica Bertagnolli urging the NIH to move forward with recruiting children into the All of Us Precision Medicine Program and noting the consequences associated with further delays in child recruitment.

The letter was led by Reps. Yadira Caraveo (D-CO), John Joyce (R-PA), Patricia Schrier (D-WA) and Michael McCaul (R-TX). Reps. Caraveo and Schrier are both pediatricians, and Reps. Joyce and Schrier are also the lead sponsors of the Pediatricians Accelerate Childhood Therapies Act.

The Coalition has long advocated for moving forward to recruit children into the All of Us program so it can achieve its full potential on both child and adult health goals. The group looks looks forward to continuing to work on this important issue.
