Coalition Responds to NICHD RFI on Extramural Research Training & Career Development

WASHINGTON (April 17, 2024) – The Coalition for Pediatric Medical Research on Monday submitted a comprehensive response to the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Request for Information (RFI) in response to recommendations made earlier this year regarding the Institute’s career development and training programs.

The Coalition supports several of the recommendations put forward while expressing significant concerns about those recommendations that, as presented, would scuttle successful longstanding training programs. The Coalition offered several alternative proposals for NICHD to consider, including policies connected to the bipartisan Pediatricians Accelerate Childhood Therapies Act, and looks forward to continuing to engage constructively on this important topic.
