Our Work and Focus

Since being organized in the mid-2000s, the Coalition has actively engaged on multiple issues to strengthen how the federal government supports child health research. This has included working with Congress to advance multiple pieces of legislation as well as working with the executive branch to shape policies administratively.

This work has included driving authorization of a law to support pediatric research networks; informing the scope of the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO), the All of Us Precision Medicine initiative and the Cancer Moonshot Initiative; and shaping policies to improve how NIH coordinates NIH-wide approaches to child health research.

It has also included working with other aligned partner to address proposed changes to how the federal government funds medical research with an emphasis on the unique challenges associated with child health research activities.
