Coalition Urges Appropriators to Include Provision Addressing Concerns About Multi-Year Funding In Final Bill
The Coalition for Pediatric Medical Research is urging the leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to address concerns about reduced funding for National Institutes of Health (NIH) research grants by including a provision to address the lump-sum payout of multi-year awards. Specifically, the Coalition is urging lawmakers to include Sec. 239 from the Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies appropriations bill in any final FY 26 Labor, HHS legislation. Sec. 239 would limit fully funding multi-year awards unless NIH commits to supporting the same total number of grants funded in FY 2024.
